Sharing a layout that I created for my daughter's baby album. This layout was inspired by Shimelle's Layer on Layer on Layer class. The lesson was about using complementary colors.
I found the pink and green in the dress she is wearing in the photo, so went from there.
I don’t usually start with a color scheme or even make it a design focus. Finding the colors I was wanting was a bit of a challenge since I don’t organize my supplies that way. I have my paper pads inventoried with images and was able to locate a Vicki Boutin collection with papers that worked as well as a “vintage” paper from Maggie Holmes. I also found a Pink Fresh stripe paper that had two stripes that matched.
While working on this layout, Simple Scrapper had a challenge for International Scrapbook day to use "vintage" border punches. I used the stripes from the Pink Fresh paper and used the border punch on them.
Found some die cuts and stickers from my stash. Some are die cuts from Shimelle and stickers from Dear Lizzy sticker book.
Finished it off with a Silhouette die cut to tie the baby album together along with some splatters using Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold.
Thanks to Shimelle’s Layer class, I am making great progress in my daughter’s album!
Thanks for looking!
