Ally’s Baby Album- 3 months

The last layout I created for my daughter’s baby album said it was 3 months, but this is the correct 3 month page!

This layout was another inspired by Ali Edwards’ Type class. For this layout I used a mixed media paper from Vicki Boutin. Love how I get the mixed media look with out the work or mess!

I used a month die I cut on my silhouette to bring repetition in this album.

To play with type on this one, I die cut an Ali Edwards digital stamp out on my Silhouette multiple times and stitched them down the page for an artistic feel. I wish I would have overlapped them more and made it look a bit more organic, but I do like the overall effect.

Happy to have made progress on this baby album and have played some more with type.

Thanks for stopping by!

6 Word Story layout

The layout I am sharing today has been on my list to create for a long time. This one is inspired by Ali Edwards’ Hello Story class. The assignment was to create a layout with a 6 word story. That’s it. No more journaling. This was a huge challenge for me. I tend to want to write a novel on each page!

I googled 6 word stories and found quite a few that resonated with me. This one felt like it said it all and I would be least compelled to say anything else.

After taking Ali Edwards’ Type class last year, type was very much on the mind. I liked the idea of mixing multiple fonts and textures to create the title/story.

I gold embossed the strong word from the Ali Edwards’ story stamp theme strong.

The hearts and border scallops were dies. The heart was a Tim holtz die from Sizzix and the border was from Pink Fresh.

Loved how this layout came out and glad to have the idea that has been in my head for years to come to life!

Ally- Baby album 2 months

This year I worked through Ali Edwards’ Type class. One of the assignments was to play with type.

This is a layout for my daughter’s baby album. I had found a layout on Pinterest that this was scraplifted from.

I had some Amy Tangerine stitching templates, but the fonts were too small for the look I was going for. Instead, I found an simple font and created a simple template myself.

I used white for a one on tone look so it wouldn’t over power the layout. I did use punk thread on the I the heart (O) and U like the inspiration layout did only they used blue for a boy.

I used a border strip that was edge punched at the bottom because there wasn’t enough room to stitch another row of letters but was too bare to leave.

Cut the 3 month circle title on my Silhouette. All of the monthly pages in this album will have one. Realized I didn’t use the correct month and fixed to 2 months in the album.

Love how this one turned out. Hope to make more progress with this album soon, as this daughter is already 6!

Loving the Type class giving me the excuse to try some different techniques.

Thanks for looking!

Daddy’s Miracle

Last year, when completing some of the last layouts for my son’s baby album, I realized I needed to remove a few to allow it to fit into one album. This was a layout I took out. It had no journaling and little to no embellishments.

That’s how this one landed into the pages in progress pile.

Revisiting it, I added a tag with journaling as well as quite a few embellishments. It was kind of fun, going through my stash of baby boy embellishments, knowing that I had no future baby boy layouts in my future. It was kind of a now ir never scenario.

Love how it all came together in the end. This layout will is reside in our family albums. Goes to show it is never too late to add story.

Hello 2006

This layout foundation came from an old Creating Keepsake kit collection from Lisa Bearnson ages ago.

The page kits are a bit simplistic for my taste and were when I purchased them, but like this one were great starting points for a layout.

I finally finished this layout after some detective work on the date. These pictures were taken on a one-use disposable camera so they were not in my digital library with the date. I had to find the negatives and look at the photos before and after to pin point the correct year!

Things I added to this layout to make my own: Thicker titles remember and hello 2006 as well as the foam thicker stars. Also used some number washi tape from Kelly Purkey.

Loved how this turned out and happy to have it in my album!

School Zone

Another layout in progress complete! Really like how this layout turned out!

This is another kit from Just Kitting. Love the Arthur and his 3D backpack sticker!

The matte sticker paper worked well for my journaling for this one.

So happy to have this story in my albums!

Take the Plunge

As I tackle really old layouts, figuring out the details and even the date has become quite a challenge. I have had to reach out for help, but find their memories are as unreliable as mine!

This layout had photos that were taken with a one use waterproof camera. This meant that I didn’t have a digital copy or the date.

The design was another from Just Kitting. Other than Goofy and the beach ball, the rest was modified. I even added the splashes and waves since the bottom seemed empty.

Found a fabric splash sticker in my stash and added the journaling with clear label sticker paper. Wish I would have placed it a little differently, but it is good enough!

Another layout finished and on to the next!
