Been quiet on my blog the past couple of weeks. I have been busy putting in a mega photo order! I just ordered 256 4x6 photos, 2 12x12, and 3 8x10. Most of the 4x6s are collages to cut down to put in my PL album. It took me longer than I thought, but I now have 6 months worth of PL photos coming in the mail!
Now onto something crafty I have completed....
I took Ali Edwards' Hello Story class at Big Picture Classes this year. It started in the summer, and with the kids home, I never got any pages done. The class was 12 weeks long, with a new prompt every week. I made it to week 7, had a ton of lists of pages I wanted to do, and stopped taking in the rest of the content. Wanted to get some pages done before I moved on to new prompts. Can't wait to go through the rest of the content!
Here is a layout I complete for Week 1: Timeline.
Of course I removed some of the personal information, including my full name, and locations to ward off stalkers. :)
One of the great things about this class is not only the plethora of process videos (at least 3 a week), a Project Life ideas every week, and tons of inspiration, there was also printables and digital elements for each topic as well.
To complete this digital layout, I used the digital Hello Timeline stamp and the timeline bar from the class.
Now, somehow this layout was locked in black and white. I am no PSE expert and couldn't figure out how I managed to to that and put it back to color. When I was adding the photos, I thought it was a nice touch, so I went with it. Wish I could have added some color as a finishing touch, but I decide it was good enough. May add some color with the printed version when I put it in my album.
This was a great layout to do, especially now, while my mom is around to ask when things happened when I was little. I recommend you do the same.
I have a few more layout ideas in the works for this same prompt that I hope to complete soon!
I love the idea about timeline page, your page is simply stunning! TFS
ReplyDeleteI love it. Actually the B&W really drew me in. But, in PSE, check under image and see if there is a checkmark by RGB. Sometimes that gets changed by accident, or maybe you accidentally hit ctrl-u (which desaturates all the colors).
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for a layout. Great page.
ReplyDeleteI love this layout and I loved the class as well I have many lists of things to do with the prompts. Something to go back to again and again.
ReplyDeleteI smiled at the BW comment because I did this just the other day in PS and could not work out what I had done.
I did work it out and maybe it is what you did, When you go FILE/NEW for a new file check under color mode and see if you accidentally moved it to greyscale, that's what I did and I only worked it out when I retraced each step I made! Hope it was something as simple as that, but in saying that I really LOVE the black and white version. Cheers Karen
