Robot Dance

I had taken a Disney class from my friend Tami a while back that used this Cosmo Cricket line. It came with robot chipboard shapes and matching die cuts. I had these pictures of my son dancing the "Robot Dance" from the show Wow Wow Wubbzy! so I resurrected the leftovers from the class and put this layout together.

Used some leather Thickers for the title.

For a craft one day, Aaron put this robot together. He selected all of the pieces and glued them all in place and decided Recess (the name of his robot) needed hair.

Used a Tim Holtz Sizzix die to make the photo strips. The die actually holds smaller photos, but I cut two frames into one so that my photos would fit.

So glad to get some use of my leftovers!

Which leads me to my question, what do you do with your leftover scraps and pieces? Been going through my scrap supplies, spring cleaning. It is hard to decide what to purge, what to hang onto and how to store it!
What do you do with the things you purge? Have a whole stack of paper ready to go for Aaron's preschool. They made a request for scraps for their "mail" and figured better they have it than sit in a drawer taking up space!

Play

I started this layout last October and I finally put the finishing touches on it! I found the perfect Crate Paper collection that matched the colors in my daugher's outfit.

The design of the layout was based on a 4x6 Photo Love class from Shimelle at Two Peas in a Bucket.

I had originally hand wrote the subtitles for each of the photos and it didn't work for me. After digging though my stash I found some Basic Grey alpha stickers that were the perfect color and size! Don't you love when that happens!

Used a Martha Stewart border punch on the top and I pleated a strip of paper for the bottom.

Now for something completely different....
My Project Life has been started. No layouts are done because I have to order bunches of photos. Realized all ready that a photo a day approach isn't going to work for me. I think I am going to do it as a week overview. I found that some days there were more than one story to tell and other days I didn't take any photos. Also trying to figure out logistics of how I want to match journaling card with its corresponding photo. It may take a bit to find my process.

Go Out and Play

Sorry that it has been a while since my last post! I was sick....... then got my self organized for a crop. Was really productive there! Put a bunch of layouts together but they all need finishing touches...mainly the journaling. Then got sick again. Just haven't been scrapping!

Here is a layout I came across in my photo library that I never got around posting. It is a favorite of mine!

The weather we were experiencing on this day was very much like today! Love it!

The paper is from My Minds Eye. Used some Ali Edwards stamps to make the tag, ticket, arrow and border elements. Used some Martha Stewart bakers twine on the kite, tag, and buttons. Added some misc. buttons from my stash.

---------------------------

Got my photos in from Persnickety Prints. I was was very pleased at how my photos turned out. The quality was very nice, and they were very quick in getting them to me. Had some issues with the cropping tools and had to contact them, but they were very quick to answering my questions and helping me find a solution. Sucks that they don't print the smaller sizes (other than wallet) but I am probably saving money in the long run using my photoshop elements. Haven't scrapped my photo collages but have the "itch" to get them done.

I am taking the Project Life plunge! If you are not familiar on what Project Life is click the link. I will post my layouts as they are completed. Going to try to go all the way back to Jan 1st of this year, but starting with the most current first. Will take a while to post these since I plan to wait to print when I have another large photo order to save me money. We shall see!
