December Daily- Day 10, 2013

So I am not 100% done with this layout. It is missing the journaling. I am going to hand write it under the photo on the right page.

I used the silver glitter ribbon included in the Studio Calico kit to border the ticket stub from the event in the first pocket. Then I used the speech bubble thicker from the kit to embellish the first photo.

On the second page, I used my favorite piece of patterned paper included in the kit. Added the photo, more glitter ribbon and topped it off with the paper clip on blue cardstock to match the ticket.

Combination of sick kid at home and busy weekend, trying to catch up! Gotta get my photos organized and printed to make any progress. Here's to hoping!

Thanks for looking!

December Daily- Day 9, 2013

Here is my layout for December 9th.

The kids wrote their letters to Santa Claus.

Used Simple Stories alpha sticker sheet for the title as well as the white Basic Grey alphas.

Used washi tape as a border on the journaling card. Used the paper clip from the Studio Calico kit.

Stamped Tis the Season from this stamp set.

Simple and done!

Thanks for looking!

December Daily- Day 8, 2013

Here is my layout for December 8th. It has one and a half page protectors. Just cut one in half.

Used three photos that I had printed to look like polariods. I know. I have been doing this quite a bit in the project lately. The thing is I take more landscape photos (project life habit, I guess) so I don't have many photos that fit these pockets. Turning them in to polariod prints, allows me to crop less of the photo.

For this layout I used the that's a good memory card, the paper clip, the gold glitter tape, red label sticker, the thicker star, the christmas countdown card, and gold dot from the Studio Calico kit. Bought Simple Stories alpha sticker sheet and used them on the red label.

And that is day 8. Thanks for looking!

December Daily- Day 7, 2013

Here is the page for December 7th. In our advent boxes there was a coupon for a game night. My son selected Clue.

Used the woodgrain patterned paper from the Studio Calico kit and cut it to fit into the four pockets.
Used the BG alphas included in the kit, as well as the paper clip, and that tiny washi tape.

And that was Day 7. Thanks for looking!

December Daily- Day 6, 2013

December 6 is St. Nicholas Day. St. Nick stopped by our house and filled the kid's shoes with a special something.

Today I used a sheet of patterned paper included in the Studio Calico kit, as well as the green ribbon and the paper clip.

I created the title with Basic Grey alpha stickers with the happy sentiment from an old Ali Edwards stamp set. This is on a Tim Holtz/Sizzix die cutted label from vellum.

Used PSE and a digital template to create these "polaroids". (Have since corrected the photo bleed issue.)

Thanks for looking.
Hope you are having a great Holiday Season!

Project Life January 14-20, 2013

Here is my Project Life layout for January 14-20, 2013.

Another week of the Simple Stories Sn@p collection.

Pretty simple week, but I am liking simple, if it means it looks great and finished sooner!

So there you have it!

Trying to catch up on December Daily, so there won't be a Project Life post for a little. My photos and cards are where they need to be for the next month or so, so it will just be a matter of getting the stories and fun stuff in there!

Hope you are enjoying my December Daily posts as well.

I LOVE these projects!

Hope you are having a great holiday season!

December Daily- Day 5, 2013

I struggled with this layout.

I had a 6x8 photo printed of our first snow and then printed Shimelle's Christmas Manifesto 2013 on vellum to put over it. I tried putting the text over the photo digitally, and I couldn't get it to look how I wanted. I tried hand writing the words on acetate, but with the sharpies I used, it was illegible. Printing on vellum seemed the best option.

On the vellum, I stamped the border stamp included with the kit using Stazon black ink at the top. In the first section, I used some washi tape and put the paper clip on top of it. In the second section, I found a Simple Stories sticker from Handmade Holiday that fit perfectly. In the last section I use the last of the gold star sticker washi tape from the kit and placed the snowflake sticker from the same sticker sheet.

Thanks for looking!

December Daily- Day 4, 2013

The layout for Day 4 is pretty basic.
I found the journaling card in my stash, stamped the moments cherished, from this stamp set and added the paper clip.
For the 3x4 photo, I used PSE to create a "poloroid look, and added the digital label to the top of it.

Gotta love Christmas books!
Thanks for looking!

Project Life January 7-13

Here is my weekly spread for January 7-13

Used a lot more of the Simple Stories collection for this week.

Used a handful of Technique Tuesday stamps by Ali Edwards for the sentiments on this page.

Really liked having a 4x6 journaling card this week to do a bit of a Week in Review. Lot more space than a 3x4!

And there you have it. Another week in the books!

December Daily- Day 3 2013

Here is my layout for December 3, 2013. Today we had a craft day.

I used part of the packaging of the kit on a collage photo I made in PSE. I added the today stamped sentiment from this stamp set. This photo is what has held me up from posting, by the way. I had to reprint because I didn't save it correctly. Then when I went to print, I hadn't uploaded it properly.

For the photos on the right page, I had some issues with photo bleed. Still figuring this digital stuff out :). Added the digital stamp of the stars included with the Studio Calico kit as well as the JOY. The digital ribbon and green washi were found in my "stash".

On this card, I used a piece of the cardstock in the Studio Calico kit and cut it in half. I then added the BG alpha stickers, washi tape sticker, the number 3 paper clip, and sequins from the kit. Finished it off with some of my own Bela Blvd. red polka dot washi and a stamped love this arrow from the same set as above.

Day 3 is done, and the next few days should be posted rather quickly. Thanks for looking!

Project Life January 1-6, 2013

To open my 2013 album with the first week, I really liked the Simple Stories Sn@p collection. I purchased the collection kit and have used up quite a bit of it.

You will also see using some cards from the Cobalt core kit, when the colors match, and others that come from my stash.

For the title card, I used the numbers stamp from last years December Daily set by Ali Edwards. Also used a set from Studio Calico that was a black Friday deal from last year, or something for the twenty thirteen and new year new memories. Used the <heart> you from an old Studio AE set and The Little Things is also from Ali Edwards.

Something I am playing around with is printing smaller photos and matting them on 4x6 cards instead of all photo collages. This allows me to have space for journaling or other tidbits on the card.

Used an Ali Edwards stamp to title the last 3x4 card which was created using grid card. The third card is a free digital file I found on the internet. There are plenty of these, you just have to remember to use them once you download them!

So there you are, week 1 done for 2013!

Project Life Opening Page for 2013

End page completed so I am officially on my Project Life album for 2013! I am just 11 months behind :)

I left the first card blank. I intend to put the date range this album will include once it has been determined.

Some of the things that you will notice that has changed is the 4x6 pockets will not have rounded corners (unless the PL kit it comes from is rounded). I am using white borders around most of the photographs. I am not using a core kit from Becky Higgins. I am using PL Mini Kits, a few Studio Calico kits (when I can get them cheap without subscription), a few Kelly Purkey kits, and my stash.

Still loving this project--even 11 months behind!

Project Life 2012 End page

This is the last page for my Project Life album for 2012.

I used the end page cards provided in the Project Life Cobalt Core kit.
I printed a collage of photos of the last six months and another collage of my feet in all four seasons. Love that I remembered to do that all year! So fun!

Haven't stamped the complete date yet, since I have a few bits and pieces to finish up and move it all to its final album home. Feels good to have 2012 pretty much completed!

December Daily: Day 2

Day 2:  The layout for this day was focused on our advent calendars this year.

Another really photo heavy day. We have 4 advent calendars going on in our house this year. The toy ones are new this year, but they will probably return since the kids are loving them so much!

Used a 4x6 white piece of cardstock and embellished with the Basic Grey tape included in my Studio Calico December Daily kid. I was a little disappointed to find the kit didn't include many journaling cards, so I had to create my own. I typed out my journaling, ran the card through my printer, then used the red letter stickers in the kit to add the title.

Punched a red cardstock circle to adhere my "paper clip" number 2 and added a bit of my own red twine. I adhered this to the outside of the page protector to overlap all three sections of the layout.

On the second page, I added gold embossed stamp images that say "his" and "hers" from this stamp set and layered it over more of the tape used on the journaling card.

Loving this one!

December Daily- Title Page and Day 1

Here is my title page for my December Daily album 2013.

I tried out Archivers Memory Lab to print my photos. I was pretty happy with the quality of the photos and size options (picture here was a 6x8).  The photos were no where near the quality of Persnickety Prints, but my photos were ready in 5 minutes! I had issues uploading from home to the store, but I brought in my flash drive and they were done easily and quickly.

Used Ali's December Daily stamp set from last year and the wood veneer numbers from the Studio Calico kit. Wondering if I should add a stamped December Daily banner from this set at the bottom. We shall see...

Day 1:
We put up our Christmas tree on the first.
All of it came from the Studio Calico kit, with the exception the red chevron washi and silver ribbon. Used this Ali Edwards stamp set to add "magical" to the tree Thicker embellishment.

It was a very photo heavy day! not much room to embellish, but I was able to include lots of photos, and the story, so I am very happy with it!

Stay tuned for Day 2!

UPDATE. Did add the banner at the bottom.

December Daily 2013 Album Cover

December is here. Time to get working on my December Daily!

This year I purchased the Studio Calico December Daily kit. I hadn't been real excited with any of the Christmas collections released this year. Purchasing the kit took some of the guess work on what to buy and mix and match.

With the shipment of the kit, I was notified that the album was manufactured incorrectly and they were going to send me another one. The stars were upside down or a diagonal, depending on your point of view. Instead of wasting a perfectly good album, I decided to play up on the "diagonal" stars.  I painted the chipboard with white acrylic paint and then colored in two "stripes" of stars with a gold paint pen.

I love how Ali Edwards covered her chipboard 25 with gold glittered embossing powder for one of her pages, So I took that idea and used what I had, X-mas red stickles. I first used some distress ink to color the chipboard, so no wood color would peek through. LOVE how it turned out!

Then I used a Thicker banner in the kit that says twenty thirteen to finish it off.

Happy December! Some pages to come soon!

Photos are in!

So my photos came in from Persnickety Prints. Was very happy how things came out, especially my 12x12 digital layout.

It took me over 3 hours to sort, and stuff all my Project Life photos in their correct spots as well as place my corresponding memorabilia in place as well.

And this is what my pages in progress album looks like now.

Finishing up the layouts for 2012 and hoping to share the start of 2013 soon, as well as some other projects.

Then it will be time for December Daily. Need to get started prepping for that!

One Little Word- October Prompt

For my One Little Word class at Big Picture Classes, the November prompt was to create a art journal page. This is what I created.

This was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I have never art journaled before and there was some freedom in just putting stuff on the page. Because there are no photos, it was easier for me to just put things on it that I liked, and enjoyed slapping some paint on the page.

Everything used on this page comes from Basic Grey's Curio collection.  It was the collection that I had used for my other OLW projects this year. I also used a stencil from Studio Calico to make the circles.

I look forward to taking this class again next year. Just trying to decide what my word will be. I have a few in the running already.

OLW- November prompt

I am taking the One Little Word class at BPC with Ali Edwards. This month's prompt was to pair photos with my word. These are photos that fit in a 8.5x11 divided page protector.

Found this project fun and a great opportunity to see where I am with my word right now.

October's prompt was a art journal style type page which I have just photographed and hope to share with you soon.

My photo order just came in the mail. I am a bit overwhelmed with organizing them, but with an all day crop, hope to be finished up completely with my Project Life album 2012! Just in time for December Daily :)

Hello Timeline

Been quiet on my blog the past couple of weeks. I have been busy putting in a mega photo order! I just ordered 256 4x6 photos, 2 12x12, and 3 8x10. Most of the 4x6s are collages to cut down to put in my PL album. It took me longer than I thought, but I now have 6 months worth of PL photos coming in the mail!

Now onto something crafty I have completed....

I took Ali Edwards' Hello Story class at Big Picture Classes this year. It started in the summer, and with the kids home, I never got any pages done. The class was 12 weeks long, with a new prompt every week. I made it to week 7, had a ton of lists of pages I wanted to do, and stopped taking in the rest of the content. Wanted to get some pages done before I moved on to new prompts. Can't wait to go through the rest of the content!

Here is a layout I complete for Week 1: Timeline.
Of course I removed some of the personal information, including my full name, and locations to ward off stalkers. :)

One of the great things about this class is not only the plethora of process videos (at least 3 a week), a Project Life ideas every week, and tons of inspiration, there was also printables and digital elements for each topic as well.

To complete this digital layout, I used the digital Hello Timeline stamp and the timeline bar from the class.

Now, somehow this layout was locked in black and white. I am no PSE expert and couldn't figure out how I managed to to that and put it back to color. When I was adding the photos, I thought it was a nice touch, so I went with it. Wish I could have added some color as a finishing touch, but I decide it was good enough. May add some color with the printed version when I put it in my album.

This was a great layout to do, especially now, while my mom is around to ask when things happened when I was little. I recommend you do the same.

I have a few more layout ideas in the works for this same prompt that I hope to complete soon!

Project LIfe Dec 10-16, 2012

Here is my Project Life layout for December 10-16, 2012.

This weeks products were mainly from SEI Christmas Mint collection. This week also contains an 8.5x11 insert to hold my 12 photos from 12-12-12. It was something I thought to do that is a bit like a day in the life, but I limited myself to only including 12 photos.

Here is another photo of the layout with the insert flipped to the other side.

Because I also did a December Daily album, I tried to focus on non-Christmas event things or things that didn't get captured in that album.

First journaling card is from Mambi that I stamped with a Technique Tueday stamp from Ali Edwards.
Second card I made from the Netflix packaging and added a label sticker to say what movie it was that we watched.
Third card ended up being a bit hard to read after printing the journaling over the snowflakes, but I just went with it.

After using the peppermint candy flair, I have found myself using more flair. I have been hesitant to use them because of the extra bulk, but they are just so fun to use! This Cheers flair/badge comes from Kelly Purkey at Simon Says Stamp.

The Good job speech bubble and Yes are both Studio Calico stamps.

For this insert I used label stamps to created journaling spots for all of the photos. I also used chipboard pieces from the Christmas Mint collection from SEI, as well as many stamps from Technique Tuesday, most from the Studio AE sets.

This used more of the same with an addition of the camera stamp from Amy Tangerine.

Loved how this insert turned out!

Hoping to share some more layouts with you soon! Some from 2013!
I am also trying to put in a pretty big photo order into Persnickety soon. Over 9 months worth of PL photos! Trying to stay organized so I don't miss any or order duplicates. Wish me luck!

Project Life Dec. 3-9, 2012

Here is my Project Life layout for December 3-9, 2012.

For this week the products are mostly from SEI's Holly Lane collection. Still on a mission to use up my stash!

The Adventure stamp is one of Kelly Purkey's stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp. Most of the white letter stickers are from Basic Grey.

I did use the peppermint candy card from an Elle's studio Christmas kit from 2011. It came with matching flair from the same kit.

Another layout in the books! 3 more and 2012 is done!

Project Life November 26 - December 2, 2012

Finally finishing up 2012! Here is the first week of December.

For this week I decided to use up some of my Christmas stash. Pulled out an old S.E.I kit using the Christmas Mint collection.

Got brave and journaled right on the photo of the soccer ball. After seeing Elise Blaha Cripe use the technique, I thought this would be a good photo to try it out on. Also used some washi tape and a stamp from Kelly Purkey.

The rest of this layout uses only SEI products with the exception of the Kelly Purkey alpha stickers that say "watched". Love these stickers. Perfect amount of vowels and letters in general. Want them in every color now!

On this side, I used a Cosmo Cricket sentiment sticker with a punched heart layered underneath for the first card. The second uses a Technique Tuesday stamped banner.

The tag journaling card used a stamp from Kelly Purkey.

The next two journaling cards and the last photo have more stamps from Technique Tuesday from Ali Edwards.

Used some letter stickers from Basic Grey to say happy birthday.

Only 3 more weeks left to complete in 2012!

Project Life November 19-25, 2013

Here is the layout for November 19-25.

Added a 6x6 insert for this week. Had too many stories to tell this week and wanted some breathing room.

Used mainly the cards from the Cobalt Core Kit. Mixed in some leaf patterned paper from my stash and some cards from Studio Calico's Mark's and Co. Project Life Kit and other bits from my stash.

Used an Amy Tangerine rub-on for this photo.

Using a lot of computer journaling to maximize how much I can say on each card.

Used a Dear Lizzy flair button on the yellow star Studio Calico card.  Used some Sn@p alpha stickers on top of the Studio Calico heart journaling card.

For the insert I used Kelly Purkey alphas from Simon Says Stamp for the title.

On the other side of the insert, I created a weekly dinner menu list. Used Basic Grey alphas for the title and Ali Edwards stamps for the days of the week. The 3D turkey sticker was in my stash.

Here is the right page without the insert in the way.

Used some Technique Tuesday stamps by Ali Edwards for most of the sentiments. The "thankful" and "pleased as pie to be with you" came from a Kelly Purkey stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.

Still struggling on what to include every week. Still lots of words and stories. Glad to have them all there.

Hope to share another layout soon!
