December Daily - Day #7 and #8

Here are my December Daily layouts for Day 7 and 8.

For Day 7 I used a 4x6 card in the kit. Embellished it with some alpha a word sticker from Simple Stories December Documented line. On the banner I stamped "love this tradition" from the stamp set included in Ali Edwards' December Daily kit.

On the photo, I stamped and embossed with gold embossing powder, the circular sentiment, added a black inked wood veneer 7 and added some washi. The December washi was from Ali's DD kit from last year.

For days that share a spread with another day, I decided to add little dividers (like Ali did in hers this year) using the transparency sheets included in the kit. I added a tab sticker also from the kit and attached with the tiny attacher.

Here is my layout for Day 8. Used the gold foiled 8 from the DD kit, and paper for the background from this years DD kit, but the rest was from my stash.

The black paper layered behind the photo is a Project Life card. The label was from Teresa Collins. The washi was a leftover from last year's DD kit, and the circle December heart was stamped from an Ali Edwards'/Technique Tuesday stamp set.

And there you go. Another 2 days in the books!

Thanks for looking!

December Daily - Day #6

Here is my December Daily layout for Day 6.

It was a rather photo heavy day. It was St. Nicholas Day, so I wanted to include the kids' shoes filled by St. Nick as well as the library winter event the kids and I attended.

Layered the glitter tree with the naked wood veneer #6 with a red star all from Ali's December Daily kit. Used a red brad from my stash to attach the star.

The journaling card, I ran through my printer to add the words and embellished simply with a glittered heart sticker.

On this page, despite the fact that the bottom of the page was a 4x6 photo pocket, I created a photo collage with two 3x4 photos to slip in. Added some washi from Kelly Purkey at Simon Says Stamp and a chipboard shape sticker from Ali's kit.

Because this layout was so photo heavy, and busy photos at that, I kept my supplies rather simple and called it done.

More December Daily pages to come! Thanks for looking!

December Daily - Day #5

No, I haven't forgotten about my December Daily. I have had a few pages completed for a while, like these, just never got around to photographing them. Trying to complete my album before I move the rest of my stuff to my new craft space in the basement.

Anyhow, here is day five.

On this day, Aaron had a gingerbread making party at his school. I scanned and reduced the invitation to the event and added as a page in the album.

For this page, I used the gold 5, the chipboard sticker and stamped sentiment on vellum from Ali's December Daily kit. From my stash I added some twine and doily.

One thing I do not have enough of in my stash is label stickers. For this page I created photo collages in PSE and added the labels, journaling and "stamped" numbers, had them printed and added them to the pockets, making for an easy page.

Have a bunch more December Daily pages to share with you, so visit again soon!

Project Life - February 16-22, 2015

Here is my Project Life layout for Feb. 16-22, 2015.

For this week's layout I used Sweet Shoppe Design's Dream Big kit as well as the Ali Edwards' Messy Monthly lines, a Sunday quote freebie from her blog, as well as the Edge Sentiments.

Had lots of snow pictures from Monday and thought I might as well use one for the title card. Love how that turned out!

Thought I was going to be short of photos again this week, but the weekend made up for the rest of the week.

Pretty simple this week. Lots of photos and words.

Hope to share more Project Life layouts soon! Still playing a bit of catch up.

Project Life - January 26- February 1, 2015

Here is my Project Life layout for the week of Jan. 26- Feb.1, 2015.

This week's layout uses a free kit from Sweet Shoppe Designs called o.m.g.

Used Ali Edwards' messy monthly lines and edge sentiments to embellish the cards.

This week happened to be very photo light. Haven't been in a good habit of taking photos every day or making sure I have photos to fill the week, but I have been improving upon this lately.  I also had slacked on my journaling for the week as well, which makes it hard to go back and fill in weeks after the fact. Again, something I am correcting going forward.

After the fact, I took a photo of Madeline's school work that I had a story to tell about it. The presiding photos were taken on my phone, so I kept them small.

I didn't take any photos of the trivia night we attended on Saturday night, but I didn't let that stop me from making a journaling card about the event.

I also didn't have any from the Super Bowl party we attended, but I used photos from the internet to round out my story.

Creating this layout reminded me how important it is either to keep up in making the pages real time or to make sure that I am documenting in real time to be able to accurately depict the week. This is something I am really thinking about when the baby comes. Ways to make sure I am capturing all that I want to remember. A challenge that I need to think about in the months to come!

Project Life - February 9-15, 2015

Here is my Project Life layout for February 9-15, 2015.

This week's layout uses a free Mommyish kit called Shake It Out as well as the Edge Sentiments by Ali Edwards and the heart is a freebie from Cathy Z. Title card uses Ali's Messy Monthly lines.
(FYI Designer Digitals has a sale right now for 40% until 2/20/15, so check them out!)

The photo tab that is stapled on the last photo and the heart and arrow art on middle card is from St. Valentine Freebie from Little Lamm & Co. that I found on Pinterest.

Planning on posting more about the Valentine Matching game that I made for Maddie's school party.

In the middle of a studio move. I have moved almost all of my crafty things to their new homes in my basement in preparations for my daughter to move in to make room for the baby.  Still have my December Daily out on my table and a couple shelves still hanging.
Can't believe all of the extra stuff I have accumulated in just the short time I have lived here! Need to purge and find some new organization methods for some of my things.
Have a IKEA Roskog cart on its way to my house to house all of my pocket cards. Next to address is my growing number of acrylic stamp sets.....
Hope to show pictures of my new space when I am all set up!

Project Life - February 2-8, 2015

Here is my first Project Life layout to share with you from 2015.

To be easy on myself, I chose to not change a lot of what I did last year. If it was working, I didn't want to mess with it.

I did start using Ali Edwards' Messy Month lines brushes that I had purchased sometime last year, for my title cards. Using her free font from CK, I added the dates under.

This week's layout uses a kit from Sweet Shoppe Designs called confetti. Loved the pinks for Valentine's Day prep and my niece's birthday pictures.

I have to admit that I haven't been that great about picking up the camera. Only two of these photos were during the week.

Using Ali's Edge Sentiments again and again. They are definitely a fave! I have gotten my money's worth from them!

I also used some brushes from Cathy Z. The hearts were some freebies on her blog.

Trying to keep things simple again, with creating simple cards out of basic kits and brushes and fonts that I love. Speaking of fonts, just went with good old Times New Roman this year.

Thanks for looking. Hoping to share more pages soon! December Daily, PL 2014, and 2015!

Project Life - December 22-31, 2014

Here is my Project Life layout for December 22-31, 2014.

If you notice, the 22-31 is actually a week and a half. Wasn't sure how I was going to handle the half week, until I noticed how few photos I took. Well, that I didn't take of Christmas and are included in my December Daily.

I opted to combine them all to fill up the two pages and end the year on that note.

Didn't use a specific kit for this layout. I used some free papers from Persnickety Prints and embellishments from my December Daily kit from last year.

Because there was overlap on the days of the week, I used the numbers and put the day of the week under it for clarification.

Learning how to use the magic wand tool in PSE to clip things like titles from cards so I can place them as brushes or stamps wherever I like. Did that on the Christmas morning title.

Used some photos off the internet of a movie poster and New Year's Eve. Helps to fill in those gaps with pictures when I don't have photos to add.

Happy to be wrapping up my 2014 album! I have to fill in the summer gap and the month of January that I hadn't started since I went digital in February 2014. All in all I think I have 10 layouts to complete, not to mention a end page, before I am ready to send off to be printed. I haven't decided where to print, so I will definitely be shopping around!
