Write - Rosie’s Valentines

This layout was inspired by Ali Edwards' Story Stamp for the theme of Write. Managed to use four of the stamps on my layout!

I used Valentine themed products for this one, which was super fun! You can see the stamping I added to the layers above.

Added some splatter stamps to give it a mixed media feel without the fear of ink going where I didn't want it to go.

Stamped and embossed the title on vellum and layered over the pencil paper by Vicki Boutin.

We- You+Me

This layout was inspired by the We Story Stamp.

I used a most loved Alphabet Soup collection from My Minds Eye. Wasn't so sure about adding the ladybug embellishments but they seem to work and are a sweet touch.

Love the ampersand stamps included on this set. They layer nicely!

I created this layout during a crop and didn't have colored twine, so I used some stamping ink to die my twine and got the perfect color for the layout!

Delight in the little things

Another Story Stamp themed layout created, but this time for the theme of Delight.

For this layout, after the journaling was completed and the photos were in my hand, I decided on products based on the colors of my daughter's dress in the photos.

Vicki Boutin's Color Study was calling my name for this one. The vellum was hard to cut up, but I knew I wanted to use those pie chart pieces falling down the page, so cut it I did.

All told, I only managed to get 3 of the stamps from the set on the layout. I did, however, manage to get a few stamps from other sets from Ali to create the title.

Love the way this one came together! Thanks for stopping by!

Brave boy

This layout was inspired by an Ali Edwards' Story Stamp set by the theme of brave.

It has been a super long time since I have Scrapbooked any Disney themed photos, so this was a fun one to throw into the mix!

Went into my Disney stash and found some Basic Grey papers that had been kitted together by my friend Tami when she worked at the Santa Clarita scrapbook store, Remember When... and taught Disney scrapbook classes.

The layout also used a sketch from an old Big Picture Classes, 28 Days of Sketches from a long time ago, before their subscription model.

Wanted my title to not float too much, so I used some washi tape to back the thicker pleather alphabet stickers.

Finished it off with some puffy star stickers from my stash and called it good.

Listen- Current Soundtrack

This layout was inspired by Ali Edwards Listen Story Kit and stamp. When I saw this kit released, I tagged it as one that I would love to pick up if I could at a later date. So glad I did! So many usable pieces in it!

Most of the other products used on this layout are papers from Vicki Boutin.

You can see the note pattern stamp in use on the pink circle along with puffy stickers and chipboard from the kit.

In this photo you can see the different icon stamps used together to create an awesome pattern. Love how that turned out!

Used a 4x6 card for the journaling as well as a few other cards cut into circle shapes to mix in with the other patterned paper.

Love this story and layout and happy to crush some kit supplies on this one!

Ally - Month 6

Participating in Refresh at Simple Scrapper this weekend, I created a kit, used inspiration from the current issue of spark magazine, and created a layout, coordinating 6x12 journaling pages, and a card!

The kit starting point was from a Scrapbook and Cards Today Sampler kit. It is amazing how much I was able to make from it! I just needed to add a 12x12 paper for the background, a piece of vellum, the title die cutsI made on my Silhouette, white card stock and a few stamps from my stash to make all of these!

This is a glimpse into what a typical 6x12 layout looks like in this album. I use papers, embellishments, and design elements that coordinate or repeat with the main layout paired with all of the notes I took in the moment. Believe me, future me is super happy past me did all of that documentation then!

Good- Spa Days

Sharing a 2 page layout I created that was inspired by Ali Edwards Good Story Stamp.

All of the papers and come from the Maggie Holmes signature collection. I know this is an old one, but I still love everything about it!

Love how the banner that I created by using the stamps turned out! Super fun to play around with!

Die cut my title out using a MFT die set.

Love the record number of the Good Story Stamps I was able to make work on this layout! It is sooo good! 😁

Celebrate - Aaron’s Graduation

This layout had different inspiration sources.

The first was Shimelle's Layer on Layer on Layer class. The lesson was about string art. I used a cut file designed by @whimsyfox for this lesson that was designed specifically for Simple Scrapper members that were working through Shimelle's class together.

I decided to tell a story using Ali Edwards' Story Stamp for the theme of celebrate about my son's eight grade graduation. Used 4 stamps from the set. The background stars stamp was perfect for this layout!

Used the celebrate die from a SCT Sampler kit for my title.

I am new to mixed media backgrounds and it was a bit terrifying to add it after all of the stitching the cut file! Glad it worked out!

Taking Care

Sharing a layout that was inspired by the Care Story Stamp from Ali Edwards.

I used a unique sketch from Simple Scrapper membership #428. It is very similar to the layout that inspired the sketch by @artfuleigh because I unexpectedly selected the same paper collection from Felicity Jane Studio to create with!

Loved the technique from the original layout with the rolled paper around the half heart shape. It took me a while to figure out how I was going to execute the look!

I opted to also do stitching around the heart. I figured it would provide the best permanent adhesive solution.

A design choice I also went with was typing the story part of my journaling but handwriting the letter. Felt it made it more personal.

Heat embossed the butterfly stamps on the Story Stamp on vellum. Allowed me to give them movement and placed on the photos with no worries.

Mixed in a few elements from a Simple Stories collection that fit the color scheme.

Happened to get a few pieces of washi tape from my stash as well.

Thanks for stopping by and Take Care!

& - All the Things

This is a layout I created inspired by 3 different sources.
1. Ali Edwards Ampersand Story Stamp and class.
2. Simple Scrapper sketch from the membership.
3. Modified sketch a bit to fit lesson 28 in Shimelle's Layer on Layer on Layer class.

Most of the supplies I used were from Amy Tangerine from various old collections.

I used the ampersand stamps on vellum and heat embossed them.

Used some stamps from Elle's Studio's different tabs stamp sets as well as some pearl dots from my stash.

I used some Vicki Boutin gold glitter Thickers for the title.

So happy to have this story told!

Teach

This layout was a three-year. Three classes inspired portions of this layout.

1. Ali Edwards Type class inspired the type on the photo.
2. Ali Edwards Story Class for the theme of Teach inspired the story and journaling.  I used stamps from this theme as well as a few from Learn.

3. Shimelle's Layer on Layer on Layer class inspired me to turned one of the digital stamps into the cut file title.

The list style was inspired by Krystal Idunate's layouts of late.

I love the color combination that I pulled from my husband's shirt.

Enjoyed making this one!

Surprise

Here is a layout I created that was inspired by the Surprise Story Stamp. Excited that I managed to use 5 stamps from the stamp set on this layout!

This was also something I created  for Shimelle's Layer on Layer on Layer class, lesson 21.

One of the great thing about this class with Shimelle, is all of the little bits I find in my stash to layer with. I used the Dear Lizzy sticker book from American crafts since it matched so well with this collection also from Dear Lizzy.

I needed a circular element and ran across Tim Holtz's gear die and just went with it.

So happy to get this story told!

Thanks for stopping by!

Ally Baby Album- Month 12

Sharing a layout that I created for my daughter's baby album. This layout was inspired by Shimelle's Layer on Layer on Layer class. The lesson was about using complementary colors.

I found the pink and green in the dress she is wearing in the photo, so went from there.

I don’t usually start with a color scheme or even make it a design focus. Finding the colors I was wanting was a bit of a challenge since I don’t organize my supplies that way. I have my paper pads inventoried with images and was able to locate a Vicki Boutin collection with papers that worked as well as a “vintage” paper from Maggie Holmes. I also found a Pink Fresh stripe paper that had two stripes that matched.

While working on this layout, Simple Scrapper had a challenge for International Scrapbook day to use "vintage" border punches. I used the stripes from the Pink Fresh paper and used the border punch on them.

Found some die cuts and stickers from my stash. Some are die cuts from Shimelle and stickers from Dear Lizzy sticker book.

Finished it off with a Silhouette die cut to tie the baby album together along with some splatters using Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold.

Thanks to Shimelle’s Layer class, I am making great progress in my daughter’s album!

Thanks for looking!

5 Months- Ally’s baby album

During Simple Scrapper's Finishing Day I completed another Baby Layout for Ally's album. It was inspired by another lesson of Shimelle's Layer on Layer on Layer class-lesson 19.

This layouts uses predominantly a Simple Stories collection, Carpe Diem.

I threw in a few chipboard button embellishments and some Amy Tangerine Die cuts and puffy stickers, as well as some Elle's Studio labels.

Love how this turned out!
Thanks for stopping by!

Ally - Month 9

Sharing another baby album layout for my daughter's album. This layout was inspired by Shimelle's Layer on Layer on Layer class for the lesson on color combinations.

Was pleasantly surprised when some old Fancy Pants rub-on in my stash worked beautifully!

Noteworthy- Baby Ally Vistors

In trying to use up some of the Scrapbook Generation kits in my stash from years ago, I went through what kits I had and paired Baby Album stories that would work well with them.

This one I altered a bit in that the camera print on the second page, was actually designed to use the A side of the pattern. Cameras go with anything and the carnival look and feel of the other design wouldn't have worked.

I also created a photo collage that fit in the same sort of block from the original sketch that came with the kit to accommodate the photos I had.

Love that I could make this kit work and get it used in an album!

Thanks for looking!
