Project Life - October 20-26, 2014

It is New Year's Eve. I have done surprisingly well this year keeping up with Project Life since I have gone digital! I have a dozen or so layouts to be completed for the year, since I started. Add January in there that I have to go back and complete and I have 16 layouts before I can send this album out to print. 5 weeks are already in progress, so I will take that as a win!

So here is my layout for October 2-26, 2014.

This layout has actually been done for weeks, maybe even months.

There has been a reason that I haven't been on top of my scrapbooking these days. That is, a reason other than the holidays and all the busyness that comes along with that. That reason comes clear in this week's layout.

I am currently 14 weeks pregnant. This pregnancy, while being less about throwing up and feeling sick, has still left me feeling tired (my thyroid also needing to be readjusted due to pregnancy) and just not that creative or in the mood to craft.

I had a few spurts, with a card making day, and got a start on my December Daily, but overall haven't been to productive these days.

Hoping, once the kids are back in school, I will be able to crank out some Project Life layouts quickly and share them with you soon. Then there is the whole completing my December Daily to finish at the same time.....

Seems weird to be sharing Halloween photos right after Christmas, but there you go. Used a photo for my title card. Love taking photos of the rows of pumpkins at the patch and it was a good way to squeeze this one on the layout.

Used Ali Edwards' Edge sentiments on 3 of the photos to add my journaling. Also used a cute ghost freebie from Cathy Zielske's blog for my Netflix photo.

This layout had a couple of different page designs before I found one that would house all of the photos I wanted to add for this week, not to mention the orientation of the photos. Mostly photos and words.

Added an Ali Edwards' brush the the pregnancy test photo and called this one done.

And there you have it. Another week in the book. Couple more pages to share that have been sitting on my hard drive, before I announced the big news.

Thanks for looking!

December Daily 2014 - Day #4

Here is my layout for December Daily 2014 for Day 4.

For day 4, Maddie and my husband went to a school fundraising event. There was a party picture taken and everything! So fun.

I added the invitation that came from school and embellished it with wood veneer stars from Studio Calico on paper from this year's DD kit.

For this page I used a journaling card from the kit (actually the same as the full sized sheet but smaller) and another piece of paper from last years kit for the journaling card.

Stamped the star circle from the DD kit and put the wood veneer number inside. Stamped stars at the bottom of the card as well.

I journaled using the lines on the patterned paper which were angled. Not entirely happy with the handwriting or the overall look, but I am trying to let it go.

Day 5 should be ready to photograph and share soon.

Christmas is fastly approaching and I am a bit sad that I am only up this far, but I have been enjoying the process when I have time and I know that I can finish everything up after Christmas is over.

December Daily 2014 - Day #3

Here is my layout for my December Daily 2014, Day 3.

There still didn't seem to be enough journaling cards in Ali's December Daily kit for me. I think that is why so many get her digital overlays, to create their own.

I used paper I had left over from last year's kit, and die cut the arrow/border from a Technique Tuesday die. It coordinates with the arrow stamps from Ali Edwards. I heat embossed with gold the "love this" sentiment. I stamped "love this tradition" on the top after printing my journaling from the computer.

For the wood veneer number for today, I inked it in red, and coated it with red stickles. I created a cluster using some Kelly Purkey washi from Simon Says Stamp and the circle label from the DD kit.

Another simple page, but it has my story and photo and it is done!

Hope you are enjoying your holiday season!

December Daily 2014 - Day #2

My December Daily 2014 for Day 2 is pretty simple.

Two unembellished photos, a journaling card from Ali's kit, and I heat embossed one of the wood veneer numbers in gold.

So there you go. Day 2.

Still chugging along. Creating memories and recording stories.

December Daily 2014- Day #1

The holiday season this year has been crazy! It snuck up on me and I did very little to prepare for my December Daily with the exception of buying Ali Edwards' December Daily kit.

Finally a few days in December I dived into the kit and started figuring out what I was going to do for the opening pages and started to mix up the page protectors, knowing that they probably wouldn't stay that way as I got going and had photos.

Here is what I have for my opening page.

I plan on using a favorite family photo from the year to place on it. I may emboss the numbers. Still playing around with it.

For the next two pages, I used the calendar page so that I can document what the kids opened up in their advent boxes this year.
I plan on printing directly onto the page or use velum over it, or handwrite. We shall see how lazy I get near the end when I know what each day's surprise is.

I really liked this north pole paper in the kit and I hated to cover it up with a photo or something. At the same time it seemed like a waste of a page to have it in plain. Wasn't sure which story it would fit with either. My compromise was to use it and print out some word art Ali shared on her blog to start off my reason why of sorts on vellum and used a puffy heart also in the kit to "pin" it on.

So here is day 1:

There are always a ton of photos of us putting up the tree, and this year was no exception. Used an insert for this day's photos.

I knew I had a lot to say, so I chose the grid paper in the kit as the base. I then used the gold foiled number one, stamped "december" with one of Ali's stamp sets. At the top of the photo, I created a border using another of Ali's stamp sets using some puffy stickers in between the phrases

For my insert, I cut a 4 3x4 page protector in half and adhered some December tape from Ali's kit I had left over from last year. I used some Bella Blvd, digital elements on the photos to cover distracting ornaments on the tree. Used another puffy heart sticker on the lower photo.

Here is a look at the page with the insert flipped.

On the back of the insert, I kept it simple, just using the journaling card and photo.

For the last page for day 1, I simply added my photos and a journaling card that I embellished with a red star, attached with a red brad, and stamped with a sentiment included in the kit.

And there you go. Day 1.

I have found myself batching this year, and I am okay with that. I will get a week's worth of photos printed at Walgreens, and then put it all together when I have time.

I have a few more days to share with you soon.
Hope you are enjoying your holiday season!

Christmas Card Time! #4

Here are the remaining cards from a crop I attended.

As I stated in previous posts, most of the cards use product from SEI's Christmas Mint Collection and the card bases are from boxed kits from Michaels.

First card used paper and the epoxy sentiment from the SEI kit. The Santa is stamped from a Stampin' Up! set and colored in using colored pencils.

This card uses that same Stampin' Up! stamp as well as some washi tape strips.

This card  and the next were made by stamping a couple of Stampin' Up! stamps and coloring in with colored pencils.

This last card, uses stamps from the same set as above. I used a strip of red chevron washi tape as well as some twine to attach the little banner of sorts to the bottom.

And there you have it. All of the cards I made. I felt that I got quite a bit done at one crop and I have plenty of Christmas cards ready to go, for all of the gift card gifts, to make them a little more personal.

Still haven't figured out what the Christmas card will be that I send out to everyone. I guess I need to get working on that!

Thanks for looking!

Christmas Card Time! #3

Here are some more Christmas cards I created during a crop.

As I stated in the other card posts, most of these cards used product from SEI's Christmas Mint collection and the card bases are from boxed sets at Michaels.

For this card I used some green foiled swirl paper from SEI, as well as the label sticker and ribbon. Stamped "Merry Christmas" and holly leaves using a Ali Edwards' and Technique Tuesday set.

For this card, I kept it pretty simple and cut banners from the SEI papers and stamped using another Ali Edwards and Technique Tuesday stamp set.

For this next card, I used some patterned paper and label that already had the sentiment on it from the SEI kit. I stamped the reindeer from the December Daily kit by Ali Edwards from 2013.

The last card I am going to share today uses strips of paper and a die cut from the SEI kit. Stamped with a holiday sentiment and called this one done. Loved the ombre effect on the base of this card!

One more post to share the final cards from this crop. Hope you are inspired to make some of your own cards this Holiday Season!

Christmas Card Time! #2

So I am back today with more Christmas cards from my day crop!

Like I mentioned in the previous post, most of these cards have product from the SEI Christmas Mint collection and card bases from boxed sets from Michaels.

This first card I used a sketch I had pinned from Pinterest (gasp! I used something I pinned!) I punched circles from the patterned paper and embellished with the epoxy stickers from the SEI kit.

I stamped with a Ali Edwards' set from Technique Tuesday.

I actually made two of this card. I stamped the snowman from a Stampin' up set and colored in with colored pencils. Used a strip of patterned paper from the SEI kit and another stamp from Ali Edwards' and Technique Tuesday.

This next card uses a tree die cut and photo corners from the SEI kit. The sentiment is another from Ali Edwards' and Technique Tuesday.

This is the last card I am going to share with you today. It uses paper from the SEI kit, as well as these epoxy stickers with the sentiment on top.

I really enjoyed using this SEI kit. Most of the papers, which you may not be able to tell, have treatments on them. Some are foiled and some like the brown with dots, has some epoxy shine to it.

More cards to share later. Stay tuned!

Thanks for looking!

Christmas Card Time! #1

I went to a crop at my friend Kelly's house some weeks ago. I didn't have my scrapbook stuff kitted, ready to go, so I opted to bring supplies to make Christmas cards instead. Here is what I made in one day!

I made quite a few cards, so I am not going to try to squeeze them all in one blog post. I will share a few at a time, so that you will have a reason to come visit here, since I haven't been very good about finishing layouts these days.

So here we go.

Most of these cards are using supplies from SEI's Christmas Mint Collection that I have had in my stash for quite a while. I had used some of this on some PL layouts from 2012, but the kits from SEI are huge and even after all of these cards, I still have quite a bit left!

The card bases come from boxed sets from Michaels. Bought a bunch when they were $5.

For this first set of cards, I kept it simple and used some epoxy present stickers and used Ali Edwards'  Hello Santa Banners for the sentiment.

For these next two cards, I used some foiled chipboard shapes that I tied some bows for from twine. Both of these cards use another Ali Edwards' stamp set from Technique Tuesday. The first I stamped with Stampin' Up ink, the second I heat embossed with white powder.

For these two cards, I found two frames in the die cut pack from the SEI collection. I stamped the "Joy" sentiment from the December Daily Kit from Ali Edwards from 2013.  Using twine, I hung tags from the frames for the finishing touch.

More cards to show soon!

Started on my December Daily and hope to have a few layouts to share today or tomorrow.

Hope you are enjoying the start to your holiday season!

Project Life- October 27- November 2, 2014

Here is my Project Life layout for October 27- November 2, 2014.

I know. I am behind a bit. This one has actually been completed, sitting patiently on my hard drive. Don't know why I never got around to posting it.

This week's layout used some Halloween freebies I picked up...the confetti, the bats, and label. Tried to keep it simple to get it done.

The second journalling pocket has a tiny picture. Maddie's teacher sent this to me via email and the resolution wasn't very high and I was afraid to make it any bigger. I think it works well enough though. Modified the picture pockets on the right to include another 4x6 photo instead of journaling cards. Kind of like how it turned out.

For this page, I almost went vertical with the 4x6 photos so the Halloween costume pictures would hold higher significance, but then I struggled in fitting all of my 4x6 horizontal photos, so redid it with Design A instead. I think it works.

Thanks for looking!

Hope to share some Christmas cards I made at my friends house as well as more Project Life pages soon!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Project Life - October 6-12, 2014

Here is my Project Life layout for October 6-12, 2014.

Initially I had been waiting for a particular photo for Witches Night Out that had a sign in the photo saying where we were. I opted not to wait for the photo anymore and selected the next best to finish this one up.

This week's layout uses Mommyish Autumn Daze digital collection.

Loving when Maddie's school shares photos of what she is doing on Facebook, like the fire truck photos,  so I can include those in this album!

Got a new look and donated 14 inches of hair!  Used a Ali Edwards "good times" freebie as well as a a banner from Cathy Zielski.

Should have more to share soon. Still waiting for a few photos to be shared!

Until then, thanks for looking!

Project Life- October 13-19, 2014

Finally! Another Project Life Layout!

Here is my Project Life layout for October 13-19, 2014.

For this week's layout I used Sweet Shoppe Designs' Follow Your Heart collection. That paired up with some digital brushes from Ali Edwards and a camera image from Two Peas In a Bucket.

This week I used the "on my nightstand" prompt for a different way to document the books I have been reading. But there is usually a pile like there every week.

(BTW, Glass Castle was really good, but a bit disturbing since it is a memoir. Loving Hands Free Mama, and loving Memoirs of a Geisha. All great reads if you are looking for something. Ordinary Grace, my book club for this week was pretty awesome as well.)

Love how the first 4x6 "pocket" turned out. Used a photo template I created myself, modifying one of the photo collage templates I had purchased.

The patch on the second photo was an awesome freebie find from Mommyish.

Thanks stopping by. Still waiting on photos and then I should have more to share!
