Love Blooming Together

Here is a layout that was inspired by the Story Class and Story Stamp for the theme of Bloom from Ali Edwards.

The story came about from the stamp "Love Blooming Together". This last May my husband and I hit our 25 dating anniversary. We have done a lot of growing together!

I was inspired by this sketch from PageMaps.

The background paper and journaling cards are from Maggie Holmes, her first collection. The tickets are from Tim Holtz.

The stamps were from the Bloom Story Stamp. I created a patterned with the sentiment on a journaling card. I then stamped again on white yardstick and popped it up for the title.

The flower die cut, I created on my Silhouette Cameo. The digital stamps come with the physical stamps, so I took the flower stamp and removed the center and then added the love from the other stamp and had it cut it from the center. I originally tried cutting the whole stamp sentiment but the letters were so small, it wouldn't cut cleanly on the size flower I wanted to use.

I also used the stamps to create a patterned paper from a piece of green Bazzil card stock and some of Ali Edwards craft inks.

I used a bit of velvet rickrack ribbon to replicate the seam on the sketch, added a few staples with my Tiny Attacher, and added a label to bring in a bit of white to that corner of the layout swell as the date and called this one done.

Thanks for looking!

Perfect Time for Change

The layout I am sharing here today was inspired by the Story Stamp from Ali Edwards with the theme Change.

My oldest daughter got a new room when I was expecting and this layout documents that change.

Shimelle's Sparkle City collection had the perfect color of purple to match the color my daughter chose to paint her room. I used papers from the paper pad.

I used the stamps from Ali Edwards' Story Stamp for the change theme as well as the transition theme, that had come out after that, since some of the stamps also worked well for this layout as well.

I used the sketch from Page Maps found here.

I used Ali Edwards Deschutes ink for the stamping. I had a planner sticker book that I got the astric and banner stickers from.

I am currently taking Ali Edwards’ Type class (self-paced) and used some of the things I learned, contrast, in creating this title.

Thanks for stopping by. Sharing another layout soon!

May 2020 By the Numbers

There hasn’t been much activity here on my blog. I have been primarily focused on my December Daily for 2020, as well as the OLW project and some digital layouts.  I also had a big clean out of the memorabilia in my home, and have been journaling a lot as well.

Realized during a clean up that I never shared this layout I made as part of 20 projects in 2020 class from last year. For May Everyday I kept tally of an assortment of things. I created this layout to share what I kept track of.

The foundation of this layout is made on a Vicki Boutin mixed media background. I love the look of mixed media but have yet branched out to try making my own. Her paper pads of these designs are a great way to get the look without the mess.

I used two alphabet stamps with the same font from Close to my Heart. The stamping was very therapeutic. I also went through my Thickers and other letter stickers to find numbers that would work.

I used a stamp from Ali Edwards and another from Kerri Bradford for the title. Love how this turned out.

Getting back to layouts and wrapping up my December Daily so should have more to share soon. Thanks for stopping by.
