Project Life- March 17-22, 2014

Here is my layout for March 17-22, 2014.

This week I was spring break, so the kids and I did a lot and there was a lot to tell. Because of that, I decided to try to leave the 3x4 pockets for journaling. I kept the journaling cards simple to allow for repetition and more white space.

The title card for this week had to be green in honor of St. Patrick's Day. After a struggle getting a shamrock to download, (another freebie) I added a few.

Had a free digital brush from Ali Edwards that said Happy Spring, which was perfect for spring break!
The days of the week, I created using the CK Ali's Handwriting font, also free. The polaroid card is a freebie from Cathy Zielski that I changed out the instagram icon for a shamrock this week.

More of the same types of cards. Added some other freebie elements like the heart viewmaster and ribbon, just altering the color to match. I used a LilyPad photo collage template for the Magic House photos with "the science kid".

I really liked how this week's layout turned out. Love all the white space and the simplicity! Love that it only took one day to get it done! Digital has its positives!

Thanks for looking!

Project Life- March 10-16, 2014

Here is my layout for March 10-16, 2014.

Kids had spring break last week, so just got to finishing up 2 weeks ago. Hoping to have last weeks done some time this week as well.

Lots of photos again this week. Having trouble pairing it down. Second page seems really photo heavy, but it's all there so it's all good, right?

Trying to keep this simple and use simple journaling cards and just adding text right onto the photos. Trying to edit words for this project as well, but it is so tough! I need to learn have my stories short but creative like Cathy Zielski's week in review! That first journaling card is one of freebie templates of hers, by the way. The heart is a digital stamp from Studio Calico.

Struggled with the journaling on the note sent home from school. Any better suggestions other than changing the font color?

Still getting by with the digital supplies I have on hand. The "totally epic" banner is another from Cathy.

Glad to have this one done and ready to work on the next.

Thanks for looking!

Project Life February 25 - March 3, 2013

Here is my Project Life layout for February 25-March 3, 2013.

Another insert for this week. Used My Mind's Eye cut apart sheets for the majority of the cards for this week.

For this week's title card, I used an Ali Edwards stamp set from Technique Tuesday for the months. The number stickers are from Simple Stories.

Used a Studio Calico transparent arrow on the "snapshots" card. The bottom left card is a crate paper mini Project Life kit.

Used some Basic Gray alpha stickers on the label (stamped) on the bottom right photo.

Here is the other half of this week's layout.

Used a label punch for the top left photo. Used a Ali Edwards/ Technique Tuesday stamp on the first journaling card.  The next card has printed journaling as well, but attached with a paper clip are the cards from a funeral we attended.

Another Studio Calico transparent arrow on the "notes" card.

Sentiment on the last journaling card is from a Studio AE stamp set.

Really loved how this week's layout came out. Loved using this collection!

Project Life February 11-17, 2013

Here is my layout for Feb 11-17, 2013.

This week had two inserts. I predominantly used a cut a part sheet. I don't remember the manufacturer. Also used some Project Life cards from the Love themed mini kit.

I used Amy Tan's calendar stamp. I realized I had stamped hearts on the wrong week, so I stamped hearts on all of the "wrong" days instead.

Used some transparent arrows from Studio Calico from Archivers clearance. Used some Christmas alphas from Pink Paisley, I believe, on clearance as well.

Here is the front of one of the inserts.

This page focuses on my son's Valentine's Day cards and treats. Used cards from the Love themed PL mini kit. Used a Studio AE stamp set as well as one from Kelly Purkey/Simon Says Stamp.

The back of the insert is my daughter's Valentine's Day cards, treats, and class party. Used some crate stickers to embellish the PL journaling card.

Here is the rest of this weeks layout.

Stamped/punched some labels to embellish the bottom photos.

Glad to have another week done and documented! Loving this project and glad to be catching up!

Project Life February 18-24, 2013

Here is my layout for February 18-24, 2013.

This week I used a cut-a-part sheet from Glitz Design for the base of the layout. I also used a couple of cards from other manufacturers--Studio Calico (&) and Me and My Big Ideas (favorite toy).

There is an insert for this week. Too much stuff and too many photos to fit in.

For the title card, used some stickers from Simple Stories.

Here is the front of the insert for this week.

The Star Wars photo came from Netflix packaging that came at a perfect time and I save it.  The card next to is uses a Studio Calico Epic stamp. The "yes please" stamp is one of Ali Edwards' from Technique Tuesday.

This top card comes from Me and My Big Ideas. I got a bunch of cards like this from my mom for Christmas so you will be seeing me use them up! The bottom "card" has a print out of the Oscar nominees with the winners check marked. Thought it was fun to include! Used some washi to embellish.

The second half of this spread is here.

Used some Kelly Purkey stickers on the first photo and a stamp from Ali from Technique Tuesday.  The journaling card used a portion of a Studio Calico stamp. The black card is from a Studio Calico kit.
Used a rub-on from my stash that said Let it snow.

Lots and lots of photos on this one. Glad to have it in the book!

Project Life March 3-9, 2014

Here is my layouts for March 3-9, 2014.

This week took a lot longer to put together. We had a busy week and I had a lot of photos and wasn't sure the best way to include it all. At times I was thinking of limiting myself on the number of photos I was going to include, but there were just too many!

Kept the title card pretty simple, similar to other weeks. I was tempted to put a photo here, but I like the white space it gives to the layout, so I didn't.

For this spread, I used the photo card freebee from Cathy Zielski. I created my own photo collage template for the last "pocket." Used Ali Edwards' font from CK.

For the second page, I had a few different pages I tried. Which of the two do you like? I think I may stick with the second one. I will say, shuffling the "cards around in the pockets is a bit more challenging digitally :)

Anyhow, I had two more photo collages on the second page and still had too many photos. If it were paper, I would have added an insert. No problem.

Well guess what. I had thought about creating a digital page insert but wasn't sure if I could do it. Then I ran across this post about adding inserts digitally, and decided to go for it.

I am keeping the page "whole" here, because that is how it will be printed. I colored it a bit differently so I will know where to cut it, like the post says.

Here is the back of the insert. I decided to not color the cut-off portion differently so in case the front and back don't line up exactly, you won't be able to tell.

So excited to have this option.

OLW Vision Board for 2014

I am participating in Ali Edwards' One Little Word class again this year. This month's prompt is a vision board.

I had so much fun doing this digitally last year that I thought I would do it digitally again this year.

Here it is.

My One Little Word this year is PRESENT.

I had been collecting images and quotes and things on Pinterest specifically for this project. Love that it brings all my favorites on one page!

Thanks for looking!

Project Life February 24-March 2, 2014

Here is my layout for Feb 24-March 2, 2014.

Title card gave me a little trouble this week since it spanned two months. I think I made it work, though.

Still using what I have. Still a lot of words. Still struggling to fit those last few extras into the spread. I need to get better at saying, "good enough.

I feel like I am cheating when I use the same "card" as the week before like the "love this story" one. I guess if I like how it looks there is no reason to reinvent the wheel! Good enough!

Love how easy it is to include pictures of books and movie posters and other stock photos (like the Legos on the journaling card)! Sad that my movie ticket stubs aren't included in the layout.

Wanted to have the winners for the Academy Awards. This card didn't turn out exactly how I would have liked, but again. Good enough.

Still current by going digital, which makes me super happy! I have realized shopping for scrap goodies is NOT the same though. I can't justify purchasing anything right now, if I can't justify what I would use it for. That has been a bit of a bummer!
