Project Life - December 15-21, 2014

Here is my Project Life layout for December 15-21, 2014.

Didn't have a lot of non-photo "pockets" for this week, so I just used some brushes to create some journaling cards. Most of those brushes came from the digital kit included with last years Studio Calico December Daily kit.
Tried a new technique today with the brushes as well. Take the "this week" sentiment from Ali Edwards' edge sentiments. I used a gold tag that I had in my digital stash and layered it with the brush so it looked gold glittered. Did the same with Cathy Z.'s "love this" heart, the snowflakes on the title card,  and the "Oh, happy day."

Waiting on a photo to finish up the week before this, and one more in December before I work my way backwards in June to finish up last year's album. Thinking I will finish up 2014, before I start on 2015. Trying to get at least 2 weeks done a week to catch up.

11 weeks to go, and counting! Project Life pages, that is :)

Project Life - December 1-7, 2014

I am cruising right along!
Here is my Project Life layout for December 1-7, 2014.

This layout uses another free kit from Sweet Shoppe Designs called Garnet Garden. I thought the red and creme was a good color combination for Christmas. Added touches of green for a more festive look.

This layout looks a little more flat that I would have liked, but this kit didn't have a lot of dimensional embellishments with it, with the exception of some rose flowers.

Used Ali Edwards' Edge Sentiments again to add "this week" and "sunday".

For this page I found a Hello December card in my Christmas stash along with that candy cane "sticker".
Altered a <heart> this brush from Ali Edwards, because it came stacked and didn't fit the area I wanted. Just realized I didn't clip it to the card, so the y hangs over. Not sure if I will bother to fix or not....

And there you have it. Another week completed in my Project Life 2014 album!

I have found myself wanting to complete this project before wanting to get back to working on my December Daily, or other paper projects. I don't know if that is because I feel like I am accomplishing more with this quick digital "pocket" layouts or if I just don't want to deal with the mess that is my scrap space. Hoping to tackle stuff in there soon!

Thanks for looking!

Project Life - November 24-30, 2014

Here is my Project Life layout for November 24-30, 2014.

For this layout I used a free kit from Sweet Shoppe Designs called "hello." I loved the black, white, water color combo. Used this one because of it's orange to make it feel a little more fall.

Lots of Ali Edwards Edge sentiments made their way onto this layout!

This layout came together quite quickly compared the week previous. I had plenty of photos and plenty of supplies in this kit that helped.

Aaron and I loved that little bird with hello on him and I had to find a way to work him in. Love how it looks like he's on a wire that says tuesday.

Lots of photos meant that this went together easily. There was enough white space on most of the photos to add the journaling without any trouble.

And there you have it. Another complete week in my 2014 album! I just have January (started doing this project digitally in Feb. last year), June (I took the summer off), and December!

If they all go this fast, I should be done with this project in a few weeks!

Thanks for looking!

Project Life - November 17-23, 2014

Here is my Project Life layout for November 17-23, 2014.

This layout took way too long to finish. Part of the reason was that I was short on photos this week, and since I wasn't doing it right after the fact, I didn't have many extra details to add into the extra pockets. Not as many words and not as many photos, meant more work for me.

I combined the two middle journaling cards on this page to have what words I did have, take up a bit more real estate.

The other thing that created more work for me, was the cub scout photo was emailed to me and not a very large file, so I couldn't have it take up the whole 4x6 photo. That meant I had to create layers and   clusters and things to fill the space.

On the second page, I didn't get a photo of the birthday party to add to one of the 4x6 spaces, so I compromised by looking up my Netflix and Goodreads history to see what I was watching and reading during the week to fill the spot. Again, layers meant more work.

Overall, I like how the layout came out and I happy to have another week completed. Hoping to knock out a few more this week.

On my to do list this week is to also get my December Daily in order. I am attending an all day crop in two weeks, so I want to have my photos and stuff ready to go to complete as much of it as I can there.

Thanks for looking!

Project Life - November 10-16, 2014

This is my Project Life layout for November 10-16, 2014.

Sweet Shoppe designs released quite a few new free digital kits. I had a heyday putting them all in my cart, downloading and sorting my new goodies for the year.

This week's layout uses one of their new kits called Loved.

Since I am behind, I am trying to stay as simplistic as I can while stilling holding true to my style. Used some of Ali Edwards' Edge sentiments again this week but the rest came from the kit.

Used a photo collage of my own making on the bottom left pocket. Embellished with the kit's banner and a title. Pretty simple otherwise.

Hoping to get more than one Project Life layout done a week, to close the gap, and finish 2014. Haven't started on 2015 yet. I gave myself a week off, since New Years was in the middle of the week, extended the weeks for the first and last of each album. Didn't have enough photos otherwise, I don't think.

All of my photos are in their weekly templates for the rest of the year. Just have to add the words and dress them up a bit. Hoping to finish them quickly and share with you soon!

Thanks for looking!

Project Life - Sept 29- Oct 5, 2014

Here is my Project Life layout for September 29- October 5, 2014.

This layout had been 95% completed right after the week had concluded, but I was waiting for a photo to add to finish it off.  I didn't get that photo until yesterday...but hey, I did get it!

This week's layout uses the You Make Me Happy digital kit.

Used Ali Edwards' Edge sentiments for the "this week" card and for the love journaling space on the next page.

Used some banners from Cathy Zielske.

And there you have it, another week ready for the 2014 album! Only 17 weeks to go :)

Thanks for looking!

Project Life - November 3-9, 2014

Happy New Year! I am going to start off with another digital Project Life layout that I completed last year.

Here is my layout for November 3-9, 2014.

Here is another layout that has been done for a while, but had waiting on my hard drive.

It has been quite a while since putting this together so I don't have a clear recollection of what products came from where. I know I used some more freebies from Cathy Z. and some of Ali Edwards' brushes.

I struggled with the number of photos for this week and actually had to find a "filler" card to put in for this week. Found this I Love U card in my stash and altered the colors to match the paper collection I used.

Other than that, photos and stories. Cause that is how I roll. Lots and lots of words!

So we are officially in the new year! Planning on continuing Project Life digitally. Planning on getting behind again this summer, especially with the new one expected to arrive around June 27, 2015. Thinking about title cards and maybe pre-planning what they will look like for the year so it will be an easy drop in for the week.

Haven't decided on what kind of memory keeping I will have with this pregnancy. I have been filling out a pregnancy journal but don't know what kind of photo project I have in mind. I am sure those photos (like the ultrasound photo in this week) will show up in my Project Life layouts as well.

As for baby album, it just reminds me of how much of Madeline's I have yet to finish! I just want to make sure that this time I take better notes of what milestones and firsts are happening when. That way, even if I am doing it 5-6 years later, I still have good stuff in there!

Here's to a great start in 2015!
