Exploring Santa Barbara Zoo

Today I am sharing another layout that has been in my Pages in Progress pile.

One of the projects I have on my 20 in 20 class list to complete for 2020 is to finish 24 layouts from this pile. I figured that I could manage 2 layouts in the pile a month. Most of them need journaling and the date on them, so they shouldn't be that labor intensive. I figured that some of the pages would overlap with my Bucket List Project class that I am also taking this year. Hoping for a productive year!

This layout was inspired by Nichol Magouirk scrapbook layouts. She now is going by Nichol Spohr and almost exclusively creates and shares cards. But back in the Two Peas in a Bucket days, I was a big fan of her layouts. One of the reasons I found Ali Edwards and became obsessed with her stamps.

Here and here are a few examples of layouts Nichol has done to show the influences she had on this layout.

She used Kerri Bradford's photo collage templates a lot. I purchased a set and have used them on many layouts. They are a great way to get a ton of photos on a layout easily and in an ascetically pleasing design.

I used an old SEI scrapbook kit to create most of this page. The animal die cuts were adorable and the brown parts were flocked.

The title was created using an old set of Thickers and tile letter stickers from Simple Stories.

The date I created from different old Ali Edwards stamp sets from Technique Tuesday.

Check out that Kangaroo die cut. Its baby was separate so you could place in and out of its pouch!

I managed to fit the journaling on two tags on opposite sides of the photos that were part of the kit I used.

I found some rub-ons in my stash that were zoo themed. I found quite a few worked with my photos and figured that if they worked I was going to use up as many I could.

Loved how this page came together! The last bit this layout needed was the date. I added the date circle once the date was located and it didn't take much to finish them. So glad to have this one in my album!

Thanks for stopping by to take a look!
